Why WAX Blockchain?

Colonize Mars NFTs launched on the WAX blockchain in early 2021. Colonize Mars’ main in-game token (MARTIA) was launched on WAX in October 2021.

• Accounts are easy to set up with one click using the WAX cloud wallet.

Players must connect their WAX wallet to the Colonize Mars game in order to play. Setting up a WAX wallet is really easy. A few steps are all you need to create yours:

Step 1 - Go to WAX Cloud Wallet Website

Navigate to the WAX Cloud Wallet website.

Step 2 - Sign up using socials or email

The easiest way to create a WAX wallet is by signing up with your preferred social platform. It is also possible to sign up with an email and password. Choose a method from below:

After you sign in, you will be prompted to accept terms and conditions, and confirm you are 18 years of age.

Next, you need to pay 5 WAXP to open your wallet.

Step 3 - Pay 5 WAXP to open your wallet

WAX implemented an extra step to prevent bot wallets, which is to fund a new account with 5 WAXP. There are a few different ways to fund this:

Option 1 - Pay with Coinbase

If you have a Coinbase account, it's easy to pay using the 'Pay with Coinbase' option.

When you are ready, simply click the 'Pay with Coinbase' button:

Follow the checkout steps, and you will be redirected to your wallet.

Option 2 - Send WAXP using memos

This method is slightly more advanced, but still easy enough! All WAX transactions have an Address and an optional Memo. This method allows you to use the funding address details along with your unique Memo to send the 5 WAX which will activate your account.

First, you will need to go on an exchange that supports WAXP, and purchase the WAXP on that exchange. To find out where to buy WAXP, follow the steps in this article: Where to Buy WAX

Once you purchase at least 5 WAXP, select “Withdraw“ on that exchange and put in newuser.wax in the Address field and the Memo that was provided on the WAX wallet website.

The Memo is very important, because it will route the WAXP to your wallet. Your new wallet address is actually the Memo, but replacing the DOT with “.“ which you will see once you get into the WAX wallet interface. Here is an example of what your Memo would look like:

Step 4 - Explore your WAX Wallet Dashboard

Once your wallet is created, you will be taken straight to your wallet dashboard:

In this case “wallet.wam“ should be replaced with your unique wallet address, which should also end in .wam. This is the address you can use to play Colonize Mars, buy NFTs, and much more on the WAX blockchain!
